Catalina 25, Fleet 8 On the Chesapeake at Middle River |
|
| Our traditional Moonlight Cruise starts with an afternoon cruise across the Bay to Tolchester Marina, an easy, often delightful trip. Arriving in the late afternoon conveniently in time for a dip in the pool or cooler at the beach bar. | |

Here are some of the "boys"
at the beach bar. Looking more like Blue's Brothers rejects, they
nonetheless were welcomed by the bar wench. Most of the rest of
the crews, of which there were many, were in the pool. |

Here is a great shot of Lady Z. with the
moon high over the horizon. Between the moon in the sky and the Carroll
Is. Power Station on the W. horizon, there are more than enough marks
to guide us. More troublesome are the crab floats of dark color that require
a sharp eye on the water. I won't relate the sequence of events that befell
us. I attempted to do that in the Fleet Log and got it all twisted around.
In an effort to not further offend certain Captains, I'll refrain at this
time. |

Capt. Warr in sailor's heaven: whiskey in one had, cash in the other. Notice that "Roger That" makes his appearance for the camera. The Moonlight Cruise is one of my favorites. Sailing at night is a marvelous experience even if Bruce doesn't agree. If you've not sailed at night, making this trip with a group is the easiest and safest way to enjoy the experience. Won't you join us next season? |
